SHARKY FACT! Shark tagging is one of the primary tools used by scientists to collect biological data on sharks? Using different tags (ie traditional/acoustic/satellite) information on a shark's age, growth, movements and habitat use can be detected! This technique is very important for management and conservation, as well as being able to watch your SHARKY friend's worldwide adventures from your laptop!

DID YOU KNOW...that sharks concentrate urea in their blood rather than excreting it?! This is an adaptation for water retention when living in a salty environment. The concentration of urea in their blood matches with the salt concentration outside their bodies in the sea water. Thus, they don’t easily lose excess water to the ocean via osmosis! 🦈🦈🦈
